Norma earned her Bachelor’s of Arts degree and Law degree from Gonzaga University. She has been a successful local attorney for over 29 years. Her firm has dealt with criminal law, personal injury, labor and industry, medical malpractice and civil liberties. Unlike her opponent, Norma has personally appeared thousands of times in Superior Court, handling felony and civil cases. She’s chaired the State Bar Association litigation section, and been a member of the Washington State Bar Association, secretary/treasurer for the Benton and Franklin County Bar Association, Washington State Trial Lawyers Association, Washington Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, Washington Defenders Association, and vice-president of the Latino Bar Association of Eastern Washington.

Throughout her career, Norma served as judge pro tem in municipal and district court. Most recently she’s demonstrated her leadership and dedication as a Superior Court Judge. Norma currently serves as the presiding Superior Court Judge for criminal cases, and on the Superior Court Judges Association Board of Trustees.
